Overview

Quiddity is seeking a Planning Technician II to complete assignments to produce planning work product, using the application of fundamental planning/platting techniques in accordance with established standards and procedures. 

Responsibilities

  • Works on multiple projects: Working with engineering teams/consultants/clients and other stakeholders, moves projects forward, identifies potential issues and escalates them appropriately.
  • Prepares routine to moderately difficult planning/platting documents, including but not limited to subdivision plats, registry drawings, GIS files, owner’s ratifications, lienholder subordination agreements, obtaining tax certificates and associated documents as necessary to include in recordation packages to appropriate jurisdictional entities or clients.
  • Reviews documents and parcel descriptions associated with the project to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Prepares maps, charts, tables of limited complexity.
  • Understands and can apply regulations appropriately for various Houston-Metro agencies and jurisdictions.
  • Attends public meetings to assist other planning staff as required.
  • Researches using a range of sources and compiles information for planning purposes. This includes, tax accounts, ownership, applicable regulations.
  • Develops and maintains automated tracking systems, hard copy files and records.
  • May manage the subdivision platting submittal, approval and recordation process, and project schedules.
  • May provide basic information and technical assistance to others on land planning/platting.
  • May prepare public notices and/or property owner verifications.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in platting/planning/GIS/CAD/Graphics or related field.
  • Proficient in the use of Civil 3D/CAD/GIS/Design tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop or similar program is preferred, but not required.
  • Understanding of planning principles and practices, regulation, zoning, and/or other specialties.
  • Certificate and/or Associate’s in Planning, Architecture, Drafting Technology, Land Surveying, or associated field preferred.
  • Understanding/knowledge of Texas State Platting Law, City of Houston and adjacent suburban cities, Harris County, Waller County, Montgomery County and Fort Bend County, regulations, standards, and procedures) preferred.
