Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transportation Project Manager to lead the delivery of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects across Central Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Professional Engineer with a strong background in TxDOT standards, federal project funding, and roadway design to join a collaborative team and manage high-impact transportation initiatives.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing project scope and execution, overseeing technical delivery, managing client relationships, and driving business development within the region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of project scope, schedules, and fee proposals for transportation projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Design, implement, and manage operational plans for project execution, holding yourself and your team accountable for deliverables and deadlines.

  • Manage contracts and project finances, including budget and cost reviews, invoicing, and collections as needed.

  • Direct project activities, assign tasks, and allocate resources to meet performance and quality objectives.

  • Prepare or supervise the development of engineering designs, specifications, studies, plan sets, drawings, maps, reports, and construction documents.

  • Establish review schedules for design and construction phases, and make or recommend revisions as needed.

  • Coordinate with construction inspection staff to schedule site visits, review reports, and resolve construction-phase design challenges.

  • Serve as the point of contact with regulatory agencies and represent the firm in coordination efforts.

  • Foster strong relationships with clients by communicating openly, addressing concerns, and providing technical and strategic guidance.

  • Support business development efforts by nurturing client relationships, preparing marketing materials (SOQs, proposals, presentations), and participating in client meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas.

  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, including substantial experience managing transportation and roadway projects, with a strong understanding of federal funding requirements.

  • Direct TxDOT project experience and ability to provide a list of applicable TxDOT pre-certifications.

  • Proficient in MicroStation and GEOPAK; familiarity with OpenRoads Designer is a plus.

  • Valid Texas driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
